Dear Friends,
Running a small wine brand has far more ups than downs, and sometimes it takes the wisdom of a five-year-old to remind us that spreading a little joy is exactly what we're here to do - through the wines we make, the moments they’re shared in, and the community we continue to build together.
Just recently, on a Saturday night before bottling, Bertus was at the winery making up the final blends late into the night. It had been a very full week and life felt a little chaotic in the way it sometimes does.
So Alli loaded up the girls and drove down to the winery to help with blending for a few hours before bedtime. We were all exhausted and definitely questioning some of our life choices, but that’s the beautiful and messy reality of doing work you truly care about, you bring your whole self with you. The work, the family, the joy, the exhaustion, the laughter, it all lives in the same place.
In the middle of the chaos, Margo looked up and said, “Pappa, put on rock n’ roll music and have a dance party with me.” We stopped what we were doing, turned up her song request (Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen), and had a dance party next to the barrels. Just like that, we were reminded of the little joys that show up unexpectedly and that we are exactly where we're meant to be.
This spring release features three favorites, including the return of our Sierra Soul Mourvèdre, which has been sold out for months. Each wine has been loved on, cared for, and yes - even danced to. They’re ready to join you at your table, at spontaneous dance parties, and in the little moments in between.
