Harvest Happenings

Early morning picks, long days on the road, and late nights in the cellar - Harvest is in full swing and we are riding high. This is the time of year when we are most reminded how special it is to be doing what we love.

We kicked off the 2019 vintage with our pick at Veerkamp vineyard. This is our first year working with this fruit (pictured above) and we are excited to announce that it will make up the components of our first rosé! A blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Grenache, it is bright, lively, and full of sass with grapefruit and floral notes on the palate. B already makes delicious rosés for Tank, T-Vine, and James Cole so we are stoked to be adding it to our lineup.

We brought in our final fruit last week and it looks + tastes beautiful. We got to have some fun footstomping the bins and are punching down the grapes daily until they are ready to be pressed.

This harvest we are working with a few new vineyards for our red as well, all of which are high elevation El Dorado beauties (samples pictured below) that will add to the complexity of our Mourvèdre.

In the wild

We joined 1% for the planet back in April and are excited to continue our efforts to leave it better than we found it. We’re passionate about being a company for good and each time you drink a bottle of our wine, you can know some good will come from it.

We bottled our 2018 Mourvèdre earlier this month and can't wait to release it with our rosé early next spring. We are so excited in fact, we already made nectarine butter for the release party out of delicious nectarines from Goldbud Farms (our growers in El Dorado) when they were in peak season. If you were able to make our release party this year you know we like to throw a party!

Until then, we will continue making the best wine we possibly can for you and keep you posted on all things Belong, including a fun holiday offer coming your way, so stay tuned. (think bigger is better)

As always, thank you for following the adventure and for sharing your photos enjoying our wine in the wild!

With love and gratitude,
Bertus + Alli
